Cardiovascular magnetic resonance assessment in previously repaired ALCAPA
نویسندگان
چکیده
Methods 6 patients with repaired ALCAPA (2 Tackeuchi, 4 direct re-implantation) underwent CMR to assess clinical suspicion of myocardial ischemia short axis and long axis cine images (assess ventricular function), late-gadolinium enhancement (detect myocardial fibrosis), adenosine stress perfusion scan (detection of reversible ischaemia) and 3D whole-heart imaging (visualization of proximal coronary arteries).

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance findings in repaired anomalous left coronary artery to pulmonary artery connection (ALCAPA)
BACKGROUND Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare coronary artery anomaly. This study shows the role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in assessing young patients following surgical repair of ALCAPA. METHODS 6 patients, aged 9-21 years, with repaired ALCAPA (2 Tackeuchi method, 4 direct re-implantation) underwent CMR because of clini...
متن کاملCardiovascular magnetic resonance assessment of ventricular function and myocardial scarring before and early after repair of anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery
BACKGROUND In patients with anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) left ventricular (LV) dilatation and dysfunction evolves due to diminished myocardial perfusion caused by coronary steal phenomenon. Using late gadolinium enhanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance (LGE-CMR) imaging, myocardial scarring has been shown in ALCAPA patients late after repair, however the i...
متن کاملRepaired tetralogy of Fallot: the roles of cardiovascular magnetic resonance in evaluating pathophysiology and for pulmonary valve replacement decision support
Surgical management of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) results in anatomic and functional abnormalities in the majority of patients. Although right ventricular volume load due to severe pulmonary regurgitation can be tolerated for many years, there is now evidence that the compensatory mechanisms of the right ventricular myocardium ultimately fail and that if the volume load is not eliminated or redu...
متن کاملCan 2-dimensional echocardiography accurately classify patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot in possible need of pulmonic valve replacement?
Background Timing of pulmonic valve replacement (PVR) following repaired Tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF) is determined by the severity of right ventricular (RV) dilation. While it is known that cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can more accurately quantify RV size than 2D-echocardiography (2DE), many centers have not fully integrated serial CMR assessment into the management of these patients,...
متن کاملCardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in patients with repaired Tetralogy of Fallot: the goal standard in preoperative assessment and follow up of injectable pulmonary valve implantation
Background Severe pulmonary regurgitation, progressive dilatation and dysfunction of the right ventricle are the most frequent reason of late morbidity post Fallot repair. Pulmonary valve replacement is often indicated in these patients. BioIntegral Injectable pulmonary valve (IPV) is an innovative less invasive technique, often done off cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Cardiovascular Magnetic Res...
